September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) has designated September as National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Organizations in the field celebrate this month as a time to raise awareness about suicide and reach out to others to let them know they are not alone and help is available. Suicidal thoughts can impact anyone. This month helps not only shed some light on the topic of suicide but connect people to available resources for prevention, treatment, and further discussion. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) celebrates National Suicide Prevention Awareness Week September 5-11, 2021 to further spotlight this issue.
